William Thomas “Tommy” Attebury, Paducah, Kentucky
Tommy Attebury, age 82, of Paducah, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at his home. Tommy was born on July 24, 1941 to the late William Thomas Attebury, Sr. and Edith Estelle Oakley Attebury. Tommy was of the Baptist faith and a 1960 graduate of Lone Oak High School. Tommy worked for the Ingram Barge Line where he served as Port Engineer. Tommy was retired from the Kentucky Division of Forestry where he was recognized for many achievements and awards during his sixteen years of service. Tommy was a member of the Natioinal Guard for thirteen years.
Survivors include one sister, Wanda Attebury Carrell of Paducah; two nieces, Dianna (David) Hampton, Sheila (Gary) Kortz and one nephew, Todd (Shari) Carrell; five great nieces and nephews; seven great-great nieces and several cousins.
Preceding in death was his wife, Wanda Jean Tucker Attebury; his parents, William Thomas Attebury, Sr. and Edith Estelle Oakley Attebury.
Services will be held at 12:00 pm Friday, May 3, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Todd Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 3, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until service time of 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
